Hello Out There!
-
January 30, 2011
First of all, I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year.
Secondly, I've been recording and collaborating again. I've recorded three new pieces and collaborated with my good friend Tony Harris on another track. Now that I've gotten Virtual Ornaments out of my system I've been going in totally different directions for my next project which, at this point, is the promised sequel to Culture of Convenience. I have no idea what to call it but I'm sure it's NOT going to be titled: Culture of Convenience II. Culture... was really low budget New Age, Pop, Neo Classical hybrid and, although this new project has some of those same elements, it has so much more to offer. It's going to be grittier and much more aggressive as far as style is concerned. As always, the emphasis will be on melody, harmony, rhythm and counterpoint so don't worry about that.
I've come to the conclusion that licensing your music is really the way to go in this game for somebody who doesn't play live gigs or tour or bombard folks on Myspace and Facebook with spam begging them to listen to my music. So the new music has been composed with that in mind. I'll just say that I'm exploring many different genres.
I am currently working on a song with Tony and the lovely and talented Daisy Chapman. I've already recorded a prototype but we (being Tony and I) still want to play with it some more. Look forward to that.
Anyway, that's all I have for now. So thank you for your support.

Hello,
Due to constant spamming and Russain porn sites I decided to turn off my guestbook last year. Well now that I have some security features built in, you are more than welcome to start leaving comments. Please keep them clean and remember that no entry will be posted without my permission. So spammers please stay away.
Thank you for your continued support.
Virtual Ornaments Now Available!
-
October 31, 2010
Ok folks, It's been a long and arduous road but the day has finally arrived.
The album Virtual Ornaments is now available at http://www.cdbaby.com/AlbumDetails.aspx?AlbumID=sonicpsyops2
It's only available as a download album and single downloads. The reason for this was the hard lesson I learned with Culture... Also, it would have pushed the release time back another couple of weeks at least. So click on the link and enjoy the music.
When links to Napster, Itunes and the rest are available I'll be sure to post them.
As always, Thank you for your support.

OK. The new album, Virtual Ornaments, is now complete but... Since I'm just a one man show here I don't have a creative department to do the artwork for the album etc. Currently I'm working on the sleeve design but I should have it up on CDBaby by the end of the month or early next month.
I appreciate the support.

Hello folks,
I put this in the links section but just in case it doesn't work here it is again: http://tonyharrismusic.com/
Do yourselves a favor and check Tony's work out. He's a very talented songwriter that you all should pay strict attention to. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
Not Sure

September 17, 2010
Greetings,
Tony and I finished the piece we were working on called "Not Sure" and, as promised, I have released here for your listening pleasure. I'm very proud of it and I hope you will all enjoy it.
Have a listen
http://www.sonicpsyops.com/music.html Again, the piece is called "Not Sure."
See! I told you that Daisy Chapman is a very talented vocalist and Tony is a talented song writer.
My contribution to the piece was performing, producing and arranging. As the song goes, I'm "Not Sure" what Tony is going to do with it but I am sure it will be available for upload somewhere soon.
Thank you for your support.
Good news, Bad news, Good news
-
August 15, 2010
OK, here's the first bit of good news. I've finished recording the last track for the upcoming Classical themed album. As it stands now, there will be 13 tracks on this album. All but about five of them are posted somewhere on the web. I want to keep the final five in seclusion until the album is complete.
Speaking of the album being complete, that's the bad news. Although I've completed the writing and recording only about 8 tracks are ready to be released. So, I have to go back and, ah... "fix," if you will, the other 5 tracks. The more I worked with the software, the more I learned so the first pieces that I completed need to be re-recorded, remixed and remastered. What all this means is that there will be yet another delay. I'm hoping that the album will be ready for distribution in late September early October.
This brings us to other bit of good news. These re-recorded tracks will sound much better then before so think of them as remastered remixes.
On another note, I think I'm finished with the Tony Harris/Daisy Chapman song colaboration. Tony has the final draft and he said that it was "magnificent" so, hopefully, if there are any changes they will be small and easy. Tony has given me the go ahead to post the finished product here on the site so I will definately do that when I get the chance. So it will be "Coming Soon."
That's it for now. Thank you for your support and hang in there. The album's coming.
A Slight Diversion
-
July 5, 2010
First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday.
Recently, a gentleman contacted me by e-mail requesting to colaborate with him on some songs that he wrote. The gentleman's name is Tony Harris and he is a very talented song writer. He can be found on Broadjam.com, or more specifically http://www.broadjam.com/artists/home.php?artistID=13871 I'd recommend paying him a visit. The song features a female vocalist named Daisy Chapman who has one of the most charming voices I've heard in a while; her voice has a velvety lounge singer quality to it and I mean that with the utmost respect. She has a Myspace page and I would recommend checking her out along with Tony. This musical diversion is quite a diversion indeed because I have never worked with vocals before.
I've took this assignment for 2 reasons:
1. I meant everything I said above about Tony and Daisy being some truely talented artists and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to work with them.
2. I wanted the experience to work in a different style. Really, the style isn't that different it's just working with vocals. The vocals are stellar, thanks to Daisy's talent, and I certainly don't want to ruin them so I see this as a challange.
Subsequently, the album will have to be put off until I'm done with this project. I'm in the finishing stages of Tony's song and It should be ready within a week. After that, I will work diligently on the the last track of the album. After that, I need to clean up some of the other tracks and I'm looking to release the album around end of August early September time frame. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
When I'm finished with Tony's song I'll ask him if I can post it here for your enjoyment.

El Pato and Broadjam Charts
-
May 2, 2010
Greetings all,
It's been a while and I have a few things to tell you. First, I've recorded a new cinematic piece titled, "El Pato (Una Vida Nueva)" or The Duck (A New Life). The piece is kind of personal as it is dedicated to the memory of my brother-in-law who was taken from us at too young an age. His nickname was El Pato which means "the duck" in Spanish. To me, It kind of sounds like something Ennio Morricone would do for one of Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns; it has an operatic flare to it. You can hear it on my Broadjam.com page here:
http://www.broadjam.com/player/player.php?play_file=46409_483259
Now on to some really good news, as of two days ago, "Analia De Buenos Aires" was number 1 on the Broadjam Classical charts!!! Thanks to all of you who gave it high scores. "Child's Play," "War Stories" and "The Art Of Darkness" all cracked the top ten of various age group charts but I believe this is my first number 1 spot on a major chart.
Re: the new album. I got some good news and I got some bad news. Previously, I had stated that my new album, Virtual Ornaments would be released at about this time. Currently, I have enough material to release the album however, I have decided to add three more tracks. Obviously, the addition of three more unproduced tracks is going to push the release date of the finished album back. So the bad news is you're going to have to wait a little longer for the album to be released but the good news is you'll be getting three more tracks to enjoy. I'm working on one of those tracks and the other two have been composed they are just waiting for me to arrange them. In addition, I will not be releasing these tracks publicly until they are finished so "El Pato" will be the last song I release both here and on any other site I'm involved in. However, I will be releasing those tracks for licensing purposes but, unless you're a music supervisor you will not have access to those songs. The new release date for the album will be July/August time frame.
Thanks for your continued support.

Analia De Buenos Aires
-
February 23, 2010
Greetings all,
I just finished another song that is posted on Broadjam. I'm having some dificulties posting songs here on my sight unfortunately, ever since Hostbaby upgraded their system, so I'll give it some time so they can fix all the bugs before posting back here.
Anyway, the piece is titled, "Analia De Buenos Aires" and I composed it for a Spanish teacher I had while visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina 8 years ago. It's sort of a Romantic piece with a Spanish flare. For the record, Analia and I were never romantically involved we were just friends. I lost contact with her over the years but I hope she is well.
Here is a link and I hope you enjoy the song. http://www.broadjam.com/player/player.php?play_file=46409_476530

Title Change
-
December 11, 2009
I hate to do this but I decided to change the title of the "War Games" to "War Stories." I did this because the piece is like three songs rolled into one, or more like, three stories rolled into one.
Sorry for the confusion.
Thank you for your support.
"War Games"
-
December 3, 2009
I posted another composition in the Music section called "War Games." By all means, if you have nine minutes to spare, stop on by and give it a listen. I dedicate it to the brave men and women fighting terrorism in far away lands. One of these brave men happens to be my brother. Best wishes to you Danny. I'm very proud of you and all of your comrades in arms.
Take care and thank you for your support.
New Song Post
-
November 30, 2009
Hello folks,
Hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving.
I posted a new song entitled, "The Unsung Villains" over in the Music Section of the site. By all means head on over there and check it out. Yes, I realize you can listen to this one on Broadjam but due to some technical difficulties I was unable to post the song that I wanted to post. However, these technical difficulties have been overcome and I will be posting the song that I wanted to post within a couple of days so stay tuned for that.
Also, I'll be deleting "Guilt Trip" because I'm currently reworking it from scratch. When I'm finished, I'll be posting the revised version.
Take care and, as always, thank you for your support.

Hello Again
-
October 10, 2009
Yeah! I mean it this time. I'm back.
I just finished a new VSL piece and I will be posting another one soon. It's sort of a Halloween/spooky thing and I'm waiting until we get a little closer to Halloween. It's a good piece, I'm very proud of it and I'm sure you will enjoy it. So far I have completed 6 pieces or should I say only two. The other four, including "Guilt Trip" will need some post production help such as remixing, rerecording, remastering.
The piece I will be posting is entitled, "All Hallow's Eve" and, like I said, I will be posting it in another week or so.
Thank you for your support.
I'm Back

October 6, 2009
For those of you still paying attention, which probably is just me, I've still alive and kicking. I've recorded some new material using VSL and I will post some stuff up soon.
Due to everybody and their mother using my site to try and sell you anything and everything, I've shut down the Guestbook. I guess it was my fault for not paying more attention to the site. Sorry about that.
I'm still learning all of this virtual orchestra stuff so I've been a little busy but I'm close to releasing some new material that I thought worthy enough to post.
Take care
